English has Upper case also known as capital letters and lower case which is called small letters. The upper case or capital letters are specified for special purposes like starting in the first letter of the sentence. The letters to form in a certain way to form speech.

The pronunciation of both upper case (capital letters) and lower case (smaller letters) are same. Both are pronounced the same but in written form, they different.

Like:  A and a.

The rules are simple. Normally English alphabets are written on four lines and we have to follow that. Like capital, some capital letter are written as

Difference between Letter and Alphabet

Well, there is no difference between the letter and Alphabets. It is just in Indian English word ‘letter’ is used instead of Alphabet which causes confusions. In standard English letter means a particular symbol and Alphabet means a group of letters. But normally letter means a sign or symbol.

Alphabet: a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,I,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z

Alphabetic orders

All the alphabets are arranged in a fixed order according to some laws also called “Grammer”. The alphabets are arranged as the sentence starts the first letter is capital. Alphabets are combined to form “word”.


There are 26 letters in the English Language. The alphabets or letters are combined to form a word. The words are combined to get a meaningful  sentence.

Like: when we join a+p+p+l+e the result we get is apple.  Apple is a common fruit all over the world.
