Huawei Mate X review, Price and Specifications
Huawei is now entering the Foldable phones market with its new Huawei Mate X review. Huawei Mate X was revealed at the Mobile World Congress this year. Mate X has a 6.6-inch display which is can be unfolded into a bigger 8-inch screen. With the Mate X being revealed, Samsung is now having a much tougher competition because Huawei Mate X is looking to be a better version of the foldable phone you can get.
Huawei’s Mate X Design
Huawei is not the first to make a foldable phone but it definitely is the most complete designed foldable phone ever made. The first brand to reveal its foldable phone is the Royole FlexPai which was a total Flop. Instead of making a good and perfect flexible phone, they rushed into making the worst foldable phone.
The Mate X has an 8-inch screen which is fairly big enough but when folded, it becomes a 6.38-inch on the backside and 6.6-inch on the front. When the phone is folded you will get a 2480 x 1148 on the 6.6-inch front display and a 2480 x 892 on the backside of the phone. In terms of display, the galaxy fold has a 7.3-inch display with another screen on the back with a 4.6-inch screen while Huawei’s Mate X has one screen which is folded from the middle.
A YouTuber named MrMobile is calling the two phones as innies and outies. The Huawei Mate X is folding on the outside hence it is the outie and Galaxy Fold being folded on the inside is called the innie. Another interesting fact about Mate X is you can use it on either side. By either sides I mean you can use it vertically or horizontally regardless of the orientation. The phone’s structure is almost square so it doesn’t make a big difference.
Huawei Mate X’s camera
Huawei’s Mate X doesn’t have any cutout, Notch or punch hole on its large 8-inch screen instead they managed to design the phone in a manner that there is no need to put cameras in the front. With the Mate X being folded on the outside, your selfies will look even much better than the cameras being put in the front.
The Mate X has a triple camera setup that would be similar to the Mate 20 pro with a 40-MP wide-angle camera, a 16-MP ultra-wide-angle camera and another 8-MP telephoto lens. Another interesting thing about Mate X’s camera setup is that when you’re taking someone’s picture they can also actually see themselves on the other half of the screen facing them and check to see how they look just before you take their pictures.
Mate X’s Battery and Performance
This is the point that the Mate X really outruns Samsung Galaxy Fold. The Mate X offers a two battery setup having a total of 4500mAh capacity when unified together. That’s a bit of more juice than Samsung’s Galaxy Fold which is having a total capacity of 4380mAh. That being said the Mate X is currently the fastest charging phone in the foldable phone category.
The phone is packed with a 55W fast charger which is capable of charging your phone from 0% up to 85% in just 30 minutes. That’s what Huawei claims but if we at least get about 70% up to 75% of charge in just 30 minutes, it would be more than enough.
Huawei also claims that the Mate X is the fastest 5G foldable phone money can buy right now. Packed with Kirin 980 Processor, The Mate X is undeniably one of the fastest Foldable phones you can get. Although this is not Huawei’s latest processor, they have also developed the Kirin 990 chip which tends to be faster than the kirin 980. A report from earlier mentioned that there would be 2 models to the Huawei Mate X and if true, we would get one with Kirin 980 Chip and another one with Kirin 990 chip which is supposedly being released a year after.
