There are many ways to take a screenshot on Mac and they are pretty simple and Easy to do. Listed below are some of the ways you can use to take a screenshot on a Mac.
1. Capturing the Entire Screen
If you want to screenshot your Entire Mac screen you can use this way to do it.
First, open all the Applications or Windows that you want to capture. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 3 all at the same time and this will take a screenshot of the entire screen. You will now hear a slight sound and the screenshot is saved on your desktop.
2. Selecting a Specific Part of the Screen
You can use this method when you want to take a screenshot of a specific part of the screen and not the Entire screen. Align the apps in a manner that you want to take a screenshot of. Then, Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4 at the same time and you will see that the cursor will change its shape into a cropping tool. Drag it across the screen and release when your selection of screen is complete it will automatically save the screenshot onto the Desktop in (.png) format.
3. Capturing a particular Window or Application
If you want to take a screenshot of a specific application or window only then, this method is useful for you as it only captures the window that you want.
To use this method Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4 at the same time which changes your cursor into a cropping tool now Press the Space button and a camera icon will appear instead of the cropping tool. you can now select the specific Window to capture a screenshot of it which is automatically saved to your desktop.
this method also is very useful when you want to report a bug about a specific Application.
Take a screenshot which is copied to your clipboard?
If you don’t want to save your screenshot right away and simply want to copy a part of the screen to the clipboard then you can use the above methods with a twist.
- By Pressing Ctrl + Command (⌘) + Shift + 3 all at the same time a screenshot will be copied to your clipboard.
- Pressing Ctrl + Command (⌘) + Shift + 4 gives you the option of selecting a particular part of the screen to be copied to the clipboard.
- And for the third method Press Ctrl + Command + Shift + 4 then, Press the Space Bar to copy the screenshot of an application the clipboard.
